Your data
Privacy policy
Short and honest: Visit Redang is a static information site. We don’t ask you to log in and we don’t run ads. We do use Google Analytics to count visits anonymously — here’s exactly what that means.
The short version
As of June 2026 this site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are useful — anonymous, aggregated stats like page views and rough location, never your name. It sets a first-party analytics cookie for that. We run no advertising or retargeting trackers, there are no accounts or sign-up forms, and we never sell or share your data.
What we don’t collect
Because this is a read-only travel guide, there’s very little to collect — and we’ve kept it that way on purpose. We don’t:
- ask you to create an account or log in;
- run a newsletter sign-up, contact form or comments that store your details;
- show third-party ads or use advertising/retargeting pixels;
- sell, rent or share your data, or try to identify you personally.
Analytics — what we use
To understand which guides are useful, we use Google Analytics 4. It loads after the page does and sets a first-party cookie so it can tell a repeat visit from a new one. What it measures is anonymous and aggregated — things like which pages are viewed, rough location (country and region) and device type — never your name or anything that identifies you personally. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. We don’t use it for advertising, and we keep what we collect to the minimum that helps us improve the guide.
Third-party content we do use
A few things on the site involve other companies, and they have their own privacy practices:
- Google Analytics. As above — it sets a first-party cookie and processes anonymous usage data under Google’s own privacy policy.
- Video embeds. Some pages let you click to load a video from YouTube and other platforms. Only when you click does the player load and potentially set its own cookies and receive your IP address, under its own privacy policy. If you never click a video, nothing loads.
- Outbound links. We link out to resorts, booking platforms and official sites so you can plan and book. Once you leave our site, those companies’ own privacy policies apply — not this one.
- Hosting. Like any website, our host processes standard server request logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and guard against abuse. We don’t use those logs to build profiles of you.
Your choices
If you’re visiting from the UK, the EU/EEA or Switzerland, analytics is switched off by default — we show a banner and set no analytics cookie until you choose Accept. Everywhere else, anonymous analytics is on by default and you can turn it off whenever you like. Either way, you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.
You’re also always in control through your browser settings — you can block or delete cookies at any time, including the analytics cookie and any set by the embedded Google Map. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google’s Analytics opt-out. Because the analytics we collect is anonymous and aggregated, we hold nothing that identifies you individually for us to look up or delete on request.
Children
This is a general travel guide, not aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone — adult or child.
Contact
The analytics we collect is anonymous, so there’s nothing held on our side that identifies you to request. You can manage cookies through your browser’s privacy controls. More about who runs this guide is on the About page.
Last updated: June 2026. We’ll update this page whenever our use of cookies, analytics or data changes — and always before any new collection begins.
