The value pick with a pool, at the quieter end of Long Beach. Coral Redang sits at the north corner of Pasir Panjang — far enough from the busiest middle to feel calm, close enough to walk to the bars and restaurants — and does something most Long Beach package resorts do not: it has its own swimming pools, an adult one and a children's one, alongside a well-regarded dive centre. It runs to 61 rooms (standard, superior and family rooms for up to five) in a mix of traditional and modern style, and reviewers consistently call it excellent value for the money. The honest trade-offs are that the rooms have no in-room TV or Wi-Fi (there is Wi-Fi in the common area), they are on the smaller side, and beach loungers can run short at peak — this is comfortable mid-range, not luxury. For a family or a diver who wants a pool to fall back on without paying the Laguna premium, it is one of the smartest picks on the island.

Our independent tip

Coral Redang's edge is the combination most Long Beach resorts cannot match at this price: a real swimming pool plus a good dive centre, at a mid-range rate well below Laguna. Choose it for that, not for the rooms — they are smallish and have no in-room TV or Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi is in the common area only), so come for the pool, the diving and the quieter north end rather than in-room comfort. The cheapest standards are basic; a superior or sea-view room is the one worth paying up for.

Indicative rate

Sold as per-person packages, not nightly rooms — a 3D2N snorkeling package is typically around RM 600-1,000 per adult on twin-share (snorkeling from about RM 590, the dive package from around RM 805), including the return boat transfer from Merang, full-board meals and the snorkeling trips. Sea-view rooms, weekends and the Jun-Aug peak cost more; children are charged less. Indicative — check the current package rate.

Frequently asked questions

Does Coral Redang Island Resort have a swimming pool?

Yes — an adult pool and a separate children pool, which is unusual on Long Beach, where most package resorts have no pool at all and rely on the sea. Together with its dive centre, the pool is the main reason families and divers pick Coral Redang over the other mid-range Long Beach resorts.

Is Coral Redang good for diving and snorkeling?

Yes — it runs its own dive centre with qualified divemasters and sells full-board dive packages alongside the snorkeling ones, and the house reef is snorkellable straight off the beach. It is a well-rated, friendly dive base, which is a big part of its appeal.

Is Coral Redang good value?

It is one of the better-value mid-range resorts on the island — you get a pool and a dive centre at a rate below Laguna. The trade-off for the price is the rooms: smallish, no in-room TV or Wi-Fi (common-area Wi-Fi only), and a quieter setting than the busy middle of Long Beach.

Where on Redang is Coral Redang Island Resort?

At the north end of Long Beach (Pasir Panjang) — a quieter corner of the island main resort beach, but still within an easy walk of the restaurants and the evening scene in the middle of the strip.
